HOW WE CAME TO BE:
As a young girl growing up in a small town in Canada, Leanna dreamed of becoming an actress. What she didn’t yet realize was that her path would ultimately lead her behind the camera, where her true calling as a producer would take shape. With no industry connections, she set out to build the world she couldn’t access rather than wait for an invitation.
Alongside her creative ambitions, Leanna pursued a path in neuropsychology as a practical backup plan, grounded in curiosity about human behavior, emotion, and the complexity of the mind. That same fascination would later become a defining force in her creative sensibility, shaping the emotionally layered, character-driven work the company is known for today.
She founded Billings Productions by uniting two enduring passions: her love of books and her love of film and television. For her, adaptation became a natural home, where the emotional depth of literature meets the visual language of the screen. Dialogue remains at the heart of her creative philosophy; she believes a single word can shift perspective, and a single sentence can change a life.
Ceylin Kocagoz began at Billings Productions as an intern. What started as an introduction quickly revealed itself as something more immediate and aligned. From their first meeting, Leanna recognized something unmistakable, Ceylin was magic. They shared an intuitive creative language, similar instincts, and a mutual drive for meaningful, elevated storytelling. The connection was fast, natural, and foundational. What began as an internship evolved into co-leadership.
